Cambodia and Angkor Wat Part 1

OMG! I'm so in love with Cambodia.. ok... let me rephrase that...I'm so in love with Angkor Wat to the extend that I can literally go there again.

For the Past 4 years, I've always wanted to visit Angkor Wat and it was a promise that both my best friend and I made that we will not go with anyone else but each other.  Flight booked, Accommodation booked and 3 other guy friends of ours decided to join us. so it ended being a group holiday!

As normal I was the planner and I was pretty happy being one... guess the control freak in me kicked in.

I have this obsession with temples and I simply love visiting temples ...

Angkor is situated on the  northern province of Siem Reap and is one of the most important archaeological sites of Southeast Asia. It extends over approximately 400 square kilometres and consists of scores of temples, hydraulic structures  as well as communication routes. For several centuries Angkor, was the centre of the Khmer Kingdom.

Angkor Wat is one of the largest religious monuments ever constructed. Its name means “temple city.” Originally built as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu, it was converted into a Buddhist temple in the 14th century, and statues of Buddha were added to its already rich artwork.

You just have to go there to see how amazing it is. The climb to see the whole area was simply worthwhile! 2 full days of  visiting the temples are just not enough if you are a temple freak like me. Shall be blogging more on the temples soon
